Help

Short answers for everything in Harbor Workspace. The same pages are in the app under Help, so they work offline too. New name? Here is what changed.

Home and switching apps

Harbor Workspace opens on Home, with an icon for each app. Under each icon is a quick look: tasks due today, what you spent today, or whether you are focusing.

Choose an icon to open that app full-screen. Choose Home at the top left, or press Ctrl+0, to come back.

To jump straight to another app, choose its icon at the top right, or press Ctrl+1 for Notes, Ctrl+2 for Budget and Ctrl+3 for Focus.

A small orange dot on an icon means that app needs your password again.

The full Notes and Budget

Notes and Budget in Harbor Workspace are the same apps as on your phone, laid out for a big window. Everything you can do on the phone, you can do here.

In Notes: notes, checklists, tasks with reminders, friends and sharing. Reminders pop up on your PC while Harbor Workspace is open.

To attach a photo or a PDF to a note, choose the paperclip. Attachments need a connection. A note you deleted by mistake is under Archive, in Recently deleted.

Shared in Budget: share a monthly household budget, or split a trip with friends. Everyone adds their own expenses and sees who owes whom.

Tap a folio in Budget to edit its name, icon or opening balance, choose whether it keeps a balance, or delete it. Only a folio with no transactions can be deleted.

In Budget: the dashboard, the ledger, reports, folios, receipts and categories. To add, rename, recolour or archive a category, open Budget, then Settings, then Categories.

Both apps use your Harbor sign-in, so there is nothing extra to sign in to. To sign out, use Settings in Harbor Workspace.

To delete your Budget account and data, go to budget.brandcode10.com/account/delete.

Friends and splitting

In Budget, add the people you share costs with: open Shared, go to Friends and choose Add friend. Enter their Waffle Whale ID email or username. They accept in Clams Budget.

They get an email with a link. If they don’t use Clams Budget yet, the link lets them create a free Waffle Whale ID first. The same goes for inviting someone to a group. For privacy, Budget shows the same message whether or not they have an account.

When you add an expense, choose Split. Pick one or more friends, or a group, then split it equally, by amounts, by percent or by shares. Save waits until it adds up.

Already added an expense on your own? Open it, choose Split and pick friends or a trip. The split takes its place, so nothing is counted twice.

The split reads like a sentence: Paid by You, split equally, 500 each. Tap who paid or how it is split to change it. Choose Equally, Amounts, Percent, Shares, Adjust (equal, but one person pays more or less) or By item (who had each receipt item). In a group, Only mine lists it for everyone without anyone owing.

Paid by is You unless you change it. Choose Several people when more than one person paid, and enter what each paid. A household takes one payer, and with friends several payers works with one friend.

Your ledger stays honest. If you pay 1,000 and split it 50/50, your folio goes down 1,000, your spending shows only your 500, and the 500 your friend owes you sits in the Shared balances folio.

Each friend shows one total across everything you share. Open the friend and choose Settle up to pay all of it or part of it. Settling up never counts as spending.

You can remove a friend once you are settled up. Past expenses stay. More in the Budget help on friends and splitting an expense.

When someone else pays the household

You choose for each household expense. Just list it: it counts in the household budget and nobody owes anyone. Or split it equally, by amounts, percent or shares, and the others pay their part back. Under More, choose that the funder covers it, the way it worked before.

By default, the funder pays for the household. So when someone else pays, for example your wife buys the groceries, it counts as your spending on the day she paid.

You do not need to add it yourself. It appears in your own Budget ledger, marked Paid by her, taken from your Shared balances folio. No money has left your own folios yet.

Until you settle up, Shared balances shows what you owe her. If she changes or deletes the expense, your ledger follows.

When you pay her back, choose Settle up and record it in the folio you paid from. That is a transfer, not spending, so nothing is counted twice. More in the Budget help on shared budgets.

Just me, in a trip

Sometimes you want a trip or group in Budget to see what you spent without anyone owing you. For example your own souvenirs on a trip.

Add the expense in the trip and, under Split with, choose Just me. If someone else paid, it says Just and their name: it is their own expense.

It counts in the group spending this month, by category and under Spent by. Nobody owes anything, so balances do not change. A household has no Just me: everything there counts in the household budget, carried by the funder.

Also add to my ledger starts on when you paid, so it shows in your own spending too. From Add expense, tap Split, pick the trip and choose Just me: your ledger gets one normal expense for the full amount, nothing in Shared balances.

Your money in Budget

Budget’s Home starts with this month: Spent is every expense, whichever folio or payment tag paid it, and Earned is your income.

Your money lists the folios that keep a balance, like Savings or Card, with what is in each one now. With more than one, In your folios adds them up.

Payment tags like Cash have no balance, so they are not listed. Spending from them only counts in Spent. Archived folios are left out too.

Money between you and friends stays apart: a Shared line shows what you are owed or what you owe. It is never added to In your folios.

Recent lists this month only, newest first. For earlier months, open the ledger in the Clams Budget app.

Signing in with Waffle Whale ID

Harbor Workspace uses your Waffle Whale ID: the same email and password you use for Pebble Notes, Budget and Focus on your phone and on the web.

When you sign in, Harbor connects to each app for you. Your password is only used to sign in. It is never saved on your PC.

If one app could not be reached, the others still work. That app shows Reconnect in Settings. Choose it and enter your password again.

To change your password or email, or to sign out other devices, open Settings and choose Waffle Whale ID. It opens your Waffle Whale ID account page in the browser.

Signing out removes your notes and budget from this PC. Everything stays safe in your account and comes back when you sign in again.

Working offline

Notes, tasks and budget changes are saved on your PC first, so you can keep working without a connection.

When you are back online, Harbor sends your changes and brings in changes from your other devices. This happens every minute, when you come back to the window, shortly after each change, and when you choose Sync now in Settings.

If the server refuses a change (for example a title that is too long), Settings shows it. Edit the item and it is sent again.

Notes

Choose New note, give it a title and write. Add a checklist for things to tick off. Changes save as you type.

Pin a note to keep it at the top. Archive a note to tidy up without deleting it. Pick a colour to group notes at a glance.

Notes shared with you appear here too. If a note was shared as read-only, you can read it but not change it. Sharing is managed in the Pebble Notes app.

Tasks

Make a list (for example Home or Work), then type a task and press Enter.

Tick the circle to complete a task. Click a task to add notes or a due date.

These are the same task lists you see in Pebble Notes on your phone and on the web.

Budget

Your folios are your accounts: cash, bank, cards. Their balances update as you add transactions.

Choose Add to record an expense, income or a transfer between folios.

Income can only go into a tracked folio, and transfers move money between two tracked folios. These are the same rules as Clams Budget everywhere.

Receipt photos, reports and receipt scanning are in the Clams Budget app.

Focus

A focus session blocks the websites in the lists you choose, in all your browsers, until the timer ends.

Strict mode means the session cannot be stopped early. Use it when you really mean it.

Schedules start focus sessions on their own, for example on weekdays from 9:00 to 17:00.

Blocking is done by Deep Dive Focus, which runs on your PC. Harbor shows and controls the same sessions, lists and schedules as the Deep Dive Focus app.

The Focus app

Focus has the same pages as the Deep Dive Focus app: Home, Blocklists, Schedules, History and Account.

Home shows the time left in a running session, or lets you start one for 25, 50, 90 or 120 minutes, or any number of minutes you type. It also shows when your next schedule starts.

In Blocklists, choose Presets to add a ready-made list, like Social media, and change it as you like. A lock on a list or a schedule means a strict session is using it: you can add sites, but removing sites, deleting it or turning it off waits until the session ends.

History shows your recent sessions, how long they ran and how they ended, and the sites that were blocked most often. Block counts come from the Deep Dive Focus browser extension.

Account shows whether Deep Dive Focus on your PC is synced, your plan, and every PC signed in to Deep Dive Focus. Plans are managed at focus.brandcode10.com/dashboard.

Turning on blocking

To block websites, install Deep Dive Focus from focus.brandcode10.com/download. Harbor finds it on its own.

Until then you can still edit your block lists and schedules here. They are saved to your account and are ready when Deep Dive Focus is installed.

If Deep Dive Focus on your PC is signed in to a different account, Harbor asks before it changes anything. Signing out of Harbor never signs Deep Dive Focus out, so blocking keeps working.

Updates

Harbor Workspace checks for updates when it starts and every few hours while it runs. New versions download quietly in the background and are checked before they are used.

When an update is ready, a small Restart to update prompt appears. Choose it when it suits you: the update installs silently and the app opens again.

Your notes, budget and sign-in are kept. After an update, What’s new shows what changed.
